I started working in the care industry doing domiciliary care in 2003 and then went back into office work again for a number of years. For the past few years I have been providing personal care and support within a care home including catheter & stoma care for residents that was suited to their individual needs and preferences, along with assisting with meals and refreshments throughout the day and logging all aspects of the care and support given. Most recently I have had the opportunity to work closely with two young adults within their own homes. Supporting a young lady with ASD and the other with Cerebral palsy, providing care and support for a few months with each of them and taking them out for activity days which has been very rewarding. Helen has been an amazing support to my Father for the last 2 years! She is compassionate, kind and professional! Unfortunately I am having to have full time care for him now, Helen is sadly not able to do the hours that I need! She will be sorely missed and I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone! She was not only a carer but a friend to my father too!
