TN37 6RA 243122 Helping others is not only a responsibility of life; it is what gives meaning to life. The deepest satisfaction comes from the joy of knowing you've positively impacted someone's world. And for nearly a decade this is what I've been doing. I have experience within, mostly, all facets of care, and will gladly help with all aspects of personal care, medication, administrative tasks, household cleaning and cooking. I am 51 years old. Pardon, I meant young (bubbly, like to chat, have a laugh, and I absolutely love spending time with my grandkids. I could also very easily get lost in a book or a well written essay and take pleasure in enjoying a well made cuppa. More, I take my job seriously and I know it inside-out. A pivotal turning point happened when my husband passed away, and made me more passionate. There simply is nothing I'd rather do than care for others. I'm qualified and trained to cater to a whole range of needs and so, for a personalised care plan please get in touch first and I'll reply as soon as I can. 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"1","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"1"}

TN38 0RW 19506 I was born and educated in Poland at the age of 20 I came to England to work as a carer. I am now 38 and I am an experienced live-in carer (more than 18 years of experience ) My main passion is non violent communication, I run workshops and support groups for families and other carers. If you want to know my full story: Back in 2005, one of the units of the nursing home was a twelve-person protected ward for people living with advanced dementia. Working for such a prestigious institution, I regularly received training on dementia care, but it was primarily theory based. The only practical advice given was to "remain calm and offer tea", which frustrated me for many years. A breakthrough in my work and life came 7 years after my first contact with people living with dementia, when I was introduced to the Contented Dementia SPECAL Method. This method explained in an exactly accurate and non-medical way, what goes on in the brain of a person living with dementia, which enabled me to finally understand the reality of life for people living with dementia. The innovative dementia care communication method called SPECAL and its photo-album analogies helped me finally understand what the world of dementia is like for a person living with this condition and what needs to be done to enter their world and better understand it. This insight was a very deep and shocking experience for me. Suddenly I realized the communication errors that I had unwittingly made for many years, only being aware from my own one perceptive. Now knowing how people perceived the world around them as dementia progresses, I saw many situations from the ward again, but now in a quite different light. Soon after learning the theories of SPECAL, I was extremely fortunate to become a 24-hour live-in carer to Susan who had early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Together with her husband David and other members of their family, for two years I practiced a new way of communication, tailored to the needs of Susan. Consequently, we saw an amazing improvement in Susan's health and quality of life and our own. It was apparent from this experience the transformative effect the way we communicate has on people living with dementia. Subsequently I have practiced with other patients and their families, achieving amazing results in improving quality of life for all. I have been a carer and in contact with people suffering from dementia for over 15 years now, and I now understand what people mean when they say "I want to go home". It is thanks to my dementia patients that I now understand that Home Is a Feeling , not a place. I also know what changes we need to make when communicating with a person under our care with dementia or without, to make them feel at home. I also understand what I need to do to take care of myself. It is now my passion to take care of myself and support those who care for other people, giving them the opportunity to also take care of themselves. I offer a range of support and mentoring services, including: One-on-one live in care - living in the homes of those under my care, I test various, non-pharmacological ways of support people in recovering from the anxiety associated with dementia. One to one mentoring for care givers. Based on my own lived experience, I will mentor you and your family. Adult Mental Health First Aider (MHFA England) Oxfordshire MIND Certificate. Hello my name is Nicola and i have been a kind, caring, conscientious and considerate carer/support worker for many years putting the welfare of clients first and enjoying the sociable nature of this type of work, meeting new people and consider it a privilege to support and help others. I can offer a care/ companionship role with clients who are mainly elderly and frail and who may still want to enjoy a full life of their choosing. Equally, i am just as happy to support people who are more home bound and less active but might appreciate bringing activities to the home to enhance the quality of their lives, such as art and crafts, flower arranging, cookery etc. Gardening and caring for house plants is often very beneficial and rewarding hobbies/activities. Or listening to others life stories . I am willing and able to offer personal caring skills in a respectful manner, if needed and i appreciate that a persons health care needs may fluctuate from day to day. Some people may be vulnerable to certain types of health issues which need to be noticed and acted upon such as UTI's ,or constipation which can cause sudden changes in behaviour both psychological and physical therefore I also believe that these things can be avoided by good care management using relevant skills and knowledge. Assisting clients in a respectful, warm and understanding manner is important to me and i can offer a wide range of experience and a comprehensive skills. I am experienced in working awake night duties, supporting clients to maintain their night time / morning routines and any care needs which could include washing and dressing, accessing the toilet facilities during the night, support with any pain relief , falls prevention, snack or drinking needs which they may require during the night in order to help settle them back to bed for sleep or rest. Pressure sore prevention . Companionship and reassurance. Spiritual awareness needs. Generally being available & close by should assistance be required. Sleep Over Care _ 9pm to 9am negotiable. . This type of care can provide that extra sense of night time safety & security especially for those who may be feeling vulnerable or wanting that extra bit of night time comforting presence within their own home . Sleep over care can be useful to provide assistance with morning and evening routines helping you to feel ready and prepared for the day ahead and then again , at night, quietly settled with a sleep promoting evening routine, safe in the knowledge that someone is close by should any need arise. Meals can be pre prepared in advance , ready for the day ahead. This level of support can help you in remaining independent of full time care during the day time .Sleep over cover can be from 1 sleep over per week up to 7 again shared with one or two other carers if required. I have enjoyed working within Health and Social Care settings for over 20 years within a variety of settings and taking on various roles from basic care work to managerial taking responsibility for teams of care workers/support staff and overseeing the welfare of vulnerable adults. Some of the duties have included care planning, manual handling assessments, medication rounds, leasing with GP's , Nurses and other primary health care professionals such as OT"s , Physiotherapists, Care Managers, Dentists, Opticians , Audiology, Chiropody, Dieticians and any other specialist health care providers who's input can all help towards ensuring a good quality of life for the person in need of help or support . I also have past experience working within range of mental & social health care settings ( NHS and Private Hospital, Residential Social Services & Private Care Homes , Charity Sectors ) which has always given me a good understanding of the psychological aspect of caring for others who may be in distress or struggling for one reason or another with aspects of their psychological and emotional well-being. I have also very much enjoyed 24 hour shifts supporting adults with mild learning disabilities who are living in small group residential homes and some larger residential homes as well as this I also have also had experience supporting people within independent living schemes. I have also experience of managing and planning day care activities for older persons as well as initiating arts and crafts activities for other vulnerable client groups as part of my role as a support worker. I also helped set up and run a monthly carers support group for relatives caring for loved ones as this role can become isolating for carers. I enjoy working in accordance with the needs and wishes of the client and I am very happy to work within their own routines and come from a person centred perspective putting a clients needs first. I am also available to provide respite care for regular carers breaks or fill in for periods of sickness. I am happy to provide short term home from hospital live in care as well or to provide live in support at those times when extra input may be needed for the short term such as during short term illness. I am a non smoker, rarely consume alcohol . I do not take recreational or non prescribed drugs. I enjoy cooking healthy and nutritious meals in accordance with clients needs and preferences, am happy to plan healthy, freshly cooked meals. My personal interests are enjoying nature, walking, drawing and painting , photography mainly nature during my walks, yoga , visiting cafes for coffee and cake , gardening , flower arranging, caring for pets , enjoying observing , listening to and providing food for the garden birds. I am a member of the Sussex Wildlife Trust. I AM AN ANIMAL LOVER BUT DUE TO ALLERGY UNABLE TO WORK WITH INDOOR FELINE'S. I would be happy to carry out a preliminary visit to work out with you an individual care plan taking fully into account your routines, needs and wishes before any placement begins. This also gives you a chance to meet me and decide if you feel that we would be a good working match for each other and your situation. How much support you may or may not need with everyday activities of living such as washing and dressing, pain management, mobility , eating and drinking, your likes and dislikes in terms of daily/weekly meal planning. In fact everything that you do through out the day or any needs you have such as medication reminders, physical exercise such as short walks outside or places you like to visit. Travel/ vehicle expenses @ .40 per mile paid by separate agreement to be paid as per Google maps mileage calculator. All Bank holidays : are charged at double time . i.e. Christmas day , Boxing day etc , Easter , Christmas Week and New Year weeks are charged at an enhanced rate i.e. time and a third. Payment to be paid into the Curam holding account before the commencement of any shift. Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you to discuss your care requirements and how i may be of help . When I moved to UK I missed working in care sector and my friend recommended to try community care which I loved then I had an opportunity to work as a support worker with adults with physical and learning disabilities which I deeply enjoyed but as I like to move around I realized I needed to do something different so just before lockdown I became a live in carer and ended up having a few private live in clients. BN21 3DH 133240 As a compassionate and dedicated individual, I believe that my strong commitment to providing exceptional care, combined with my interpersonal skills and genuine empathy, make me a great fit for you. Throughout my life, I have always been drawn to helping others and making a positive impact on their lives. This desire led me to pursue a career in the healthcare field, where I could utilize my skills and qualities to improve the well-being of individuals in need. Having worked in various healthcare settings, including hospitals and rehabilitation centres, I have gained a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards involved in this profession. One of my core strengths is my ability to empathize with patients and their families. I truly believe that empathy is the foundation of providing holistic care. By putting myself in the shoes of those I assist, I am able to establish a connection based on understanding and trust. This not only enables me to address their physical needs but also helps me provide emotional support during difficult times. In addition to empathy, I possess exceptional communication skills. I can effectively communicate with patients, their families, and the healthcare team. Clear and concise communication is crucial for ensuring that everyone involved is well-informed, and that the best possible care is provided. I am comfortable adapting my communication style to suit individual needs and preferences, ensuring that information is conveyed accurately and compassionately. Furthermore, I am a highly organized individual with excellent time management skills. I understand the importance of adhering to schedules and maintaining a structured environment within a healthcare setting. I am adaptable and can navigate rapidly changing situations, allowing me to deliver immediate assistance whenever necessary. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"1","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"1"}
