While having to take care of my grandmother for over 5 years I acquired many skills and lots of hands on experience as her full time carer. Also a few years before we lived with my grandmothers brother who was on end of life and I was his carer too. For the past 3.5 years I have been working as an assistant carer, worked as live-in carer for an agency and currently a student nurse. Working as a carer this were my responsibilities: Administering Medication Assisting and supporting in keeping home clean and tidy Assisting with dressing, washing, bathing and personal care and adhering to dignity in care Assisting with continence care, prompting and administering medication Observe and report changes of skin, moods and behaviour of service users’ health to office staff Food preparation and some light housework duties Completing care plans Assisting with getting up in the morning including washing/bathing and dressing and maintaining personal appearance Assisting with undressing and getting to bed in the evening Assisting with preparation of meals, drinks, and snacks when necessary I am available most weekends please contact if interested.
