I have over 30 years experience working within Health and social, includes working in the role as Live in Carer. The central theme of my working practice is person centred this involves enabling and empowering the client to be as independent as possible with the best quality of life. I work within partnership and believe in transparency when working with other professionals. I have extensive experience in working in collaboration with families providing both support and guidance in relation to dementia care. My natural strengths include being able to create a trusting relationship and positive environment for the client whereby they very quickly feel safe and comfortable in their own home. Due to my extensive knowledge in mental health I now only specialises in dementia and Alzheimer’s within my work with older adults. I have found that I have built up an effective toolkit from previous roles such as Clinical Aromtherapist, Play Therapist that serve me well in the role of Live in Carer. If a client finds it hard to sleep which can be common problem with dementia then a relaxing massage before bed can be extremely beneficial for the client to have good nights sleep. I am known for my excellent culinary skills and love to prepare food from fresh local ingredients. I enjoy dance, painting, meditation and reading.
