It appears I started working as a Healthcare Worker right on time, and very shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic, the lockdown, and the staff shortages. During these months, I had the opportunity to really prove myself as a valuable member of the team. I became support staff and was working almost every night shift, by choice to help where I could. It was a difficult time for all, and I gained invaluable experience. I was nominated by several of my colleagues and superiors to be fast-tracked to senior. I am immensely proud to have been considered and I was extremely competent at running shifts and supervising my team on duty. Together we had continuously very smooth-running shifts. These include in the community, nursing homes, a hospice and the local council during my Social Work training. I am passionate about enabling individuals to live as independently as possible and to retain their choices, dignity and interests they may have. I have significant experience and training working with healthcare professionals, part of a team as well as lone working. I am extremely committed to people I am supporting and am a very positive and hardworking person with an ability to cope with sensitive and challenging issues. I have excellent communication skills and have a level three in counselling and am looking forward to carrying on with my training in this area. I worked in a primary school for over ten years supporting children including those with special educational needs.
