I have been a self-employed live-in carer since 2007. The flexibility of work dates tied in well with my four children's school holidays, all having attended a naval-related boarding school in Suffolk. My husband was in the RN for 25 years. Our children flew the (crow's) nest a few years ago but I have continued to work as a carer because I enjoy it.
I find that working with clients who suffer from dementia to be particularly rewarding as it is vital to form an understanding, a rapport, an empathy, a trust which results in a successful client/carer relationship.
