I have approximately ten years of invaluable skills and experience in home care, mainly as a live-in Senior Care Assistant, and as a supervisor/shift leader in a residential care home. It is a role I thoroughly enjoy, I find it rewarding and satisfying, knowing, that I am enabling others to live independently as possible.
I am kind, caring, empathetic, adaptable and hard working, I have recently completed completed a level 2 in health and social care, I also have a level 5 certificate in care of the elderly. I have a current up to date DBS certificate and I am on the update system, I also hold a current full drivers license, and drive my own car.
Some of my duties as a Senior Care Assistant include companionship, personal care, administering medication, providing support for service users and their families, liaising with external parties such as GPs and nurses. Updating and assessing care plans and providing a safe environment. Adhering to company policies and procedures, and observing CQC and other current regulations. Advocating for and supporting clients according to their needs. Being a proactive team leader and using my own initiative.
Some of my hobbies include reading, walking, getting out and about and cooking in general.

Carol very kindly stepped in a the last minute (thrown in the deep end), when one of my carers were unable to cover. I was concerned taking in a different/new carer, with mum still settling in with being home after a 3 month stay in hospital, but Carol looked after mum (who has Parkinson's) great, dealt with her meds, cooking/meal times, personal care, helped my mum eat her meals and housekeeping. She is very calm and knowledgeable, I would certainly welcome her back & recommend to others!
