I have worked for the past within the adult autistic sector, looking after all the needs of severely autistic adults in their homes. This has been up to 120 hours a week, living in as needed. I have supported all needs that are required, from personal care (including incontinence), administration of medication, household/domestic chores, shopping/trips/holidays/driving, supporting close family, and general companionship. Prior to this, cared for both my parents in their later years. I am 56, fit and healthy and have many interests and experiences in life that many find interesting. Love cooking, and consider myself to be a very good cook, having a catering background. Love being outdoors. Walking, cycling and sailing of particular enjoyment. Very much like to laugh. Laughing cures many a bad day, but also dependable in a crisis. Happy to be around animals. Enjoy travel and holidays, sporting/music/theatre/cinema events. Keen interest in politics, world affairs and environmental issues. Enjoy watching history/science/geography documentaries. The Universe fascinates me. Not a big fan of social media and I don't really watch soaps, but have started watching classic soaps with 1 of my service users currently. Watching episodes of Emmerdale I saw 15 years ago. I love to learn new things from people. Stories of the past. Enjoy a cup of tea and biscuit whilst discussing the "Good Old Days". Down to earth, compassionate and trustworthy.
