My background has been mainly been in customer support and service roles, while building successful relationships. I am a patient person who brings transferable skills such as being approachable, trustworthy, reliable, friendly and compassionate. I have worked with adults and young adults with learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome and challenging behaviour within both supported living and care roles. I have worked with different levels of mental capacity and supported with medication and personal care and those with eating and drinking needs. I have supported individuals with dementia but who were also diagnosed with LD. I have supported individuals with MS, cerebral palsy, muscular atrophy, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s and dementia. I have experience with PEG feeding, hoisting incontinence and catheter care. I did a health and social care course when I was 17 and worked in a SEN school with one day of college. Unfortunately I left before completion because I was unable to help one of the children suffering at home and I struggled to deal with this at such a young age. I then had a variety of customer facing roles over the years but always thought about trying again in a support role. It was when I was unhappy working in retail that I met many carers that popped in with people they were supporting or caring for and conversations led to confidence. I wish I had continued all those years ago because I will never be happy in another role now that I have such a rewarding one. I would say I am a really good cook because it’s something I enjoy. This also makes me a good carer. I did a nutrition and health course a few years ago so I am able to produce healthy, nutritious meals that taste good too. I like arts and crafts. I love nature and photography and walks with my dog. She is getting old but still behaves like a puppy. I like to spend my time relaxing or walking with her. If you feel I can help you, please get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.

Excellent

Being an SPMS sufferer, getting a temporary carer to cover my 'vacating wives' duties, Kerry Jean, joined me and performed her considerate professional skills and consideration upon my needs! I would not fault her! Thank you unreservedly.

Excellent

We can highly recommend Kerry. She helped and supported our mother, who has advanced vascular dementia, during a very difficult and stressful time, due to the death of our father. She was always willing to help and assist with all aspects of care for our mother. Kerry is warm, and friendly and very quickly helped to put our mother at ease. Thank you, Kerry your help was very much appreciated.
