PA3 3AR 235471 Hello. I am a friendly mature, positive hardworking individual, who always strives to achieve the highest standard possible at any given task. I possess excellent communication skills, and I have the ability and experience to relate to a wide range of people. I can work under pressure and I have the experience to remain good-humoured and calm. At the end of 2016, I made the decision to move away from managing and recruiting carers and returned to practical care. I have worked as a live-in care since then. I have some experience working with people with disabilities but primarily I have worked with elderly care and all that can come with it. I have experience in all aspects of personal care including continence care, suprapubic and indwelling catheters. I am experienced in the use of a variety of equipment that aids in making life easier for the client and carer. It has been my experience that a live-in carer brings so much more than just meeting someone's physical needs. Listening, supporting and encouraging them where possible to maintain their independence is also important. Asking a client what they want to eat, wear or do is vital, often carers make these decisions. I believe with the right carer a person can thrive. In the summer months, I enjoy travelling in my camper van. For now, it’s only been Scotland. I do some photography and enjoy listening to audiobooks either true crime or biographies. If the weather keeps me indoors I up-cycle furniture for family and friends. 0 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}

PA2 0EQ 278496 Hi, my name is Matebe, but I prefer to be called Matty for short. Personality I am a compassionate and empathetic individual who values making meaningful connections with people. I believe in the importance of kindness, patience, and understanding in every interaction. I approach my work with a positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others. My calm and reassuring demeanour helps to create a comfortable and supportive environment for those I care for. Beliefs I strongly believe in the dignity and worth of every person. I am committed to providing respectful and personalized care that honours each individual's unique needs and preferences. I believe in fostering independence and empowering those I support to live their best lives. My approach to care is holistic, focusing not only on physical needs but also on emotional and social well-being. Hobbies and Interests In my free time, I enjoy a variety of activities that help me stay balanced and energized. I love baking and cooking in my free time as this helps me relax. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as walking, and swimming as this allows me to appreciate nature and stay active. Education and Skills I have a solid educational background in Nursing and i have vast knowledge in elderly care, dementia care, those that have had a stroke, those that suffer from Parkinson and many other chronic conditions. I am proficient in medication administration, mobility assistance, personal care, etc and on the other hand I am always eager to learn new techniques and best practices in healthcare. What I Am Best At I excel in building strong, trusting relationships with my clients and their families. My strengths lie in my ability to listen actively, communicate effectively, and provide tailored care that meets individual needs. I am particularly skilled in creating structured routines that promote stability and comfort for those I support. My attention to detail ensures that all aspects of care are meticulously managed. Dreams and Aspirations My ultimate dream is to make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of those I care for. I aspire to continually improve my healthcare skills and stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field. My goal is to one day lead a team of dedicated healthcare workers. I look forward to the opportunity to support and care for you or your loved ones, bringing my passion and dedication to every interaction. As I’ve added cooking as one of my hobbies, I would be able to prepare home cooked meals which would be nutritious and well balanced. I do kind a make home cooked scones (smile) as well. As a qualified nurse there will be roles I would be willing to undertake when a post comes along that will require nursing care such as PEG/NG feeding, stoma care, Parkinson care, post operative care whereby client will be needing basic physio/exercise at home , post stroke care, catheter care. This would be agreed with the client and family. If a live in opportunity came along that just needed a carer I would also love to be of services as before I became a nurse I was a live in carer and I enjoyed it this the reason for me wanting to get back to one to one care. I would be happy to look after female clients on their own as we as male client on their own. If it is couples that both need caring it would be agreed before hand. I am available to do long placements of up to 6 weeks. If clients want to trial me out first for a minimum of 2 weeks I would also be available. I am quite flexible and would work with the clients needs. I would also be happy to have my 2 hour breaks, however this can also be discussed withe client/family. Every individual would be different. I would be happy for my transport to be covered both ways. I am have been Covid vaccinated and I also get my yearly flu vaccine. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"1","field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"1","field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"1","field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"1","field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"1","field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"1","field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"1","field_care_type_seven":""}

G15 7EP 108803 I have a great passion for helping others live comfortably in their own homes. I assist clients with daily living tasks they can no longer perform personally due to illness, frailty or being affected with a physical disability, and mobility issues. I have supported clients who were affected with Dementia, Parkinson disease and some needed companionship as they are lonely in their homes. I have also supported clients who were depressed and were very anxious about life. As no two people are the same, I work using the Person - Centred Approach. I treat clients with dignity and respect. This means I respect their rights, wishes, and choices as long as they do not put them into harm or danger. I work adhering to Legislation and Policies and Procedures. I am a team player and have a listening ear, too. I bring smiles to my clients by appreciating them and treating them with respect and having time doing things the client wants and having cups of tea with cake or biscuits too. This helps to create a very good rapport. I love cooking and baking and sometimes try new things that clients want if I do know them, especially food as I am from Africa originally. I love making someone smile daily by supporting them in A Person -Centred Way as it is to their choice, not mine . I promote clients' independence, that is, letting them do what they can. I was a Primary School Teacher in Zimbabwe for over 22 years. I taught children from primary one up to seven. When I came to the UK, I decided to help older adults and went to university to train as a social worker. I chose to work with older adults as I had a lot of interest to be with my grandparents when I was young. I had a very good relationship with them. I have very good listening skills and respect others to talk before me. I hold a diploma in social work, and I supported the elderly when I was on placement and I enjoyed that so much, and this made me want to work as a Live-in-Carer. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

G41 1AQ 148788 I am patient, caring and generous of spirit. I love a good laugh and like to make a difference. I helped nurse my father through a long and painful six-year journey with Alzheimers to keep healthy and comfortable. I learned a lot about death, grief and how to support those close through that process. During Covid lockdown in South Africa 2020, I took up a six month companion contract with a 93 year old lady, suffering with depression after the death of her husband. I integrated well with her family and eased their concern with regular communication. This experience progressed to my relocating to the UK in March 2021. Since then, I have been a live-in Carer with a diverse and interesting mix of clients and their families across Scotland and England and embrace the unique backgrounds and upbringing of each family. I have worked with people with dementia, diabetes, depression, aphasia, palliative care, permanent oxygen with various levels of mobility requiring moving and handling experience. Personal care and grooming with songs sung together brings on a smile or shared dance. Caring is an extremely fulfilling vocation for me after 30 years in a professional and corporate environment. Hearing wonderful stories from my father of his bush experiences in central Africa and growing up in a humble, healthy, and positive environment, I too enjoy the outdoors and most sports. My Scottish mother shared her refinement, poise, desire to travel, importance of education and financial independence and with 2 sisters I wasn’t going to get away with not learning the feminine roles played in a home. My parents also encouraged their daughters to be independent, strong, observant women and we were taught to mix easily with people from all cultures and walks of life. One of the simple succinct mantras in our household was that “to have class is to have the ability to engage at any level and move in any circle”. I thoroughly enjoy listening to clients’ stories and experiences. I enjoy time in the kitchen preparing visually interesting, healthy and tasty meals and try living in a neat and clean home. I can confidently assist with all aspects of running of a household- from driving a client to appointments or social occasions, food shopping, assisting in the garden, sorting out cupboards, basic administration if required- to being competent on the computer. Coming from a talented sporting family, I’ve always been involved in team and individual sports, run an ultra marathon twice, played provincial and Masters field hockey and completed the biggest open water swim in the World four times. I work at maintaining my fitness levels and work hard at finding balance in my life. Endurance sport has taught me to dig deep when in pain – another lesson which has served me during the tough times. A bonus for me would be to take a client outdoors regularly to get in some form of exercise, fresh air and a bit of sunlight which is a sure way to lift one’s spirits. I enjoy some down time in Glasgow with my 2 sons who are in their mid-twenties. I keep in regular contact with my 85-year-old Mum who is still feisty and believes she can still socialize and keep up with her grandchildren’s antics. I enjoy hiking and exploring the hidden gems around Glasgow and always take my binoculars with me to try and squeeze in some bird spotting. I have had very positive feedback from all my clients with supporting references that “boost “my ego - so please get in touch if you think I‘d be a suitable fit for you or your family member that I can help live independently and happily in their homes. 2 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}

G13 1AE 280541 I am a professional live in carer with a strong background of social care experience. Whilst working in social care since 2000, my values changed and adapted. I realised that recognising and supporting people's values was very important. The experience I have gained in life so far both personally and professionally will ensure that I carry out the role of a Live in Carer to the necessary standards. It is the job I feel comfortable in and I really enjoy making a difference to people's lives, and I also gain a tremendous amount of job satisfaction when I can visibly see the difference my support is making to others. I have a good ethic and experience in supporting people and also adhere to rules, regulations and procedures. 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}
